Who kares about the Kardashians?

I don’t watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians.  I have a hard enough time keeping up with my own life; and, truth be told, I could care less about the Kardashians.  There I said it.  I do not really give a rat’s fanny about what that family is up to.  I am sooooo over the reality television shows that perch themselves in real people’s lives and create a whole faithful legion of peeping Toms (and Tomasinas). ;-)

It is my theory that shows like this one (and there are many of them) are the reason soap operas are on their way out.  The stupidity some of these folks engage in on the TV shows in their “real” lives is way more salacious than daytime TV.  Erica Kane has nothing on some of the antics you can catch on the Real Housewives

Amazingly, I have been able to conduct my life even though I am completely oblivious as to what the Kardashians have been up to – imagine that!  I must admit though that I caught a brief clip of Kim Kardashian with her new husband on late night TV a week or two ago wherein she informed him that her whole family has nicknamed him “The Dog” and refers to him as such when he is not around.  Oh my, there is nothing quite like demeaning the new hubby on national TV.  Really, how have I lived without this in my life?

So now I hear Kim wants a divorce and all I can say is “Who kares?!”  I don’t.  It doesn’t matter to me whether it has been 72 days or 72 hours.  I don’t care if the marriage was real or a publicity stunt.  I do not want to be up in the Kardashian’s business – be it real or made-for-TV.  I guess that explains why I am not “keeping up” with them.

If I am going to spend my time keeping up with folks’ lives they will be truly noteworthy folks…folks who matter to me and who are in my life.  That makes sense to me…invest in folks that matter, not folks who have sold off the privacy of their lives and the lives of their family, friends and colleagues to make a living.   But hey, what do I know?  I am not keeping up with the Kardashians.

Day eight hundred and forty-nine of the new forty – obla di obla da
